DiveHive for diversFeaturesDiscover and book

Free for divers

Find the dive. Ask for your place.

Browse shops, sites and trips on a map or a list, narrow them down to what suits you, and send a request in a minute. You can look around without an account. Booking needs a free one.

From a map to a place on the boat.

Four steps, and you always see where your request stands.

  1. Look around

Open the map or the list. Shops, sites and trips are public, so no account is needed to browse.

  2. Narrow it down

Filter by dates, type and what you hope to see, or by trips you qualify for.

  3. Send a request

Pick your dives, say what gear you need and add a note. The shop approves it, or tells you why not.

  4. Get ready

Sign the shop’s waiver once, add the trip to your calendar or wallet and invite a buddy.

Discover

Show me what fits my days.

The map and the list show the same things. Use whichever helps, then narrow it down.

  • Map and list. Search by place, shop or site, or look at what is near you. Near me uses your location only for that search, and nothing is stored.
  • Dates and type. Pick today, the weekend or your own dates. Choose boat, shore or pool dives.
  • Fun dives or courses. Switch to courses to see what each shop teaches and send an enquiry. Course sessions are never listed as trips to join.
  • Only what you qualify for. Turn on “only trips I qualify for” and trips that need a higher certification or more dives drop out of the list.

Shops, sites, trips

Know what you are signing up for.

Every shop, site and trip has a public page you can read before you decide anything.

  • Public pages. Shops show their description, languages, courses and upcoming public trips. Sites show a map, typical marine life and recent sightings. Trips show times, boat, sites and seats left.
  • One difficulty scale. Sites and trips are rated beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert, with the reasons beside the rating, so a level always means the same thing.
  • A fit check, with reasons. Signed in, you see good fit, check first or not a fit on each trip, and why. It is guidance only. The shop and your training decide.
  • Follow your shops. Follow the shops you like and their new public trips appear in your Today feed.

Request and join

Ask once, and see where it stands.

Joining a trip is a request the shop answers. You never have to guess whether you are in.

  • Request, approve, group. Choose your dives, rental needs and nitrox, and add a note. The shop approves or declines, then places you in a group.
  • Waiver for that shop. Once the shop approves, you are asked to sign its waiver and medical form, with a reminder if you forget.
  • Full? Join the waitlist. When a seat frees up, the next diver gets an offer for a short time before it passes on.
  • Cancel or move. Until the shop’s cutoff you can cancel or move to another trip yourself. If the shop cancels, it can offer replacement trips you take with one tap.

Buddies and reminders

Bring your buddy. Keep the plan close.

The trip stays on your phone, in your calendar and in your wallet, and it follows any change.

  • Buddies. Connect through a share link or a QR code, or by exact email. Divers only turn up in name search if they choose to. See where buddies dive, and invite one to a trip.
  • Wallet pass. Once a booking is approved, add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. A delay or a change updates the pass, and a cancelled trip voids it.
  • Calendar. Subscribe to your trips in Apple, Google or Outlook calendar, or add a single trip to your calendar. You can revoke the feed any time.
  • Told about changes. If a shop moves a trip to another time, you are asked whether you are still coming, and the shop sees your answer.

Planning a dive should feel easy.

Browse first.

Shops, sites and trips are open to everyone. You need a free account only to request a place.

Guidance, not verdicts.

The fit check and the difficulty rating explain themselves. They never block a request you can make, and the shop has the last word.

Your details stay yours.

Your location is used for the search and not stored. Your profile starts out visible to buddies only, and your health answers never show up on a trip.

Plans can change.

Cancel, move or join a waitlist without writing to anyone, and get told when the shop changes something.

Everything in discover and book.

Each feature in a line or two, grouped by what you want to do.

Questions about discovering and booking

More in the diver FAQ.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Shops, sites and trips are public and open to everyone. You need a free account to follow a shop, send a request or save your interests.

Is a request the same as a booking?

A request asks for a place. The shop approves or declines it, and some shops confirm straight away. You see the status in the app and get a notice when it changes.

What if a trip needs a certification I do not have?

The trip shows what it needs. If you do not meet a hard requirement, you cannot send a request, and you are pointed to a course that would help.

Is the fit check a safety rating?

No. It is guidance with reasons, such as time since your last dive or the conditions expected. It never blocks a request you can make, and the shop and your training decide.

Can I cancel or change a trip?

Yes. Until the shop’s cutoff you can cancel or move to another trip yourself. After it, you ask the shop to cancel. Each shop sets its own cancellation policy as text.

Who sees my location?

Only the search uses it. Near me reads your phone’s location for that one query, and it is not stored.
