DiveHive for diversDive insurance
For divers, worldwideDive insurance, before you travel.
Most dive shops ask for it, and normal travel insurance often excludes scuba. Here is what to check in a policy, and the insurers divers use.
Why it matters.
Diving is safe when done within limits, but the rare accident is expensive and far from home.
What to check in a policy.
Read the wording, not the headline. These are the points that decide whether it works for your diving.
Before you buy
- The depth limit, compared with your certification and the dives you plan.
- Hyperbaric and recompression treatment is covered.
- Emergency evacuation and repatriation are covered.
- Your country of residence is eligible. Most dive insurers sell by where you live.
- Technical diving, rebreathers or freediving, if you do them, are not excluded.
- Dive gear is covered, if you travel with your own.
- Trip cancellation covers a dive trip you have paid for.

Questions you might have.
More in the FAQ, or write to hello@divehive.app.
Do I need dive insurance if I have travel insurance?
Often yes. Many travel policies exclude scuba, or cover it only to a shallow depth or for certain activities. Check the wording for diving, the depth limit, hyperbaric treatment and evacuation. If any is missing, add dive cover.
Does DiveHive sell insurance?
No. DiveHive does not sell insurance, quote it or give advice. We link to insurers for information only and earn nothing from those links. If we ever add partner links, they will be clearly labelled.
Which one should I choose?
It depends on where you live and how you dive. Start with the insurers that sell to your country of residence, then compare the wording on depth, chamber treatment, evacuation and the kinds of diving you do.
Is DAN membership insurance?
It varies by region. Some DAN organisations sell membership, insurance or both, and what is included differs. Check the page of the DAN organisation for your region.
